OUR MISSION

The mission of Allied Women's Center (AWC) is to save as many babies as possible from death by abortion primarily in metro San Antonio and South Texas.

We do this by directly supporting abortion-minded women and helping them make life-affirming decisions. Through our crisis pregnancy center operations, we provide free pregnancy tests, sonogram services, factual information, confidential/free counseling, and tangible assistance to these women and their babies, before and after birth.

Truth is, abortion is not a choice, but rather, a lack of a choice. And when women are offered true alternatives, most of them will choose life. We, through the grace of God, are successful in helping women make the right choice. Each year, we assist 1,000+ teens/women in crisis pregnancies. In recent years we have saved over 200 pre-born babies annually. Since we've opened our doors in 1994, we have saved over 1,000 children from death by abortion. This activity, in turn, has further positively impacted the lives of tens of thousands of community members in our clients' families.

However, Allied Women's Center can only do this life-saving, hope-giving work with the help and support of many generous pro-life supporters. We invite you to join us today in this sacred and precious ministry. The benefits for doing God's work, we believe, are truly "heavenly"!

Here’s what makes Allied Women’s Center unique:

  • Our primary mission is to save babies from abortion… PERIOD! Our motto is Saving Babies, Helping Families. We do help and support women and families ~ but saving babies will always come first.

  • The term “saved” to us means that an abortion-minded pregnant woman has chosen life, not death, for her unborn child through the counseling and services of Allied Women’s Center. (It does not refer to a religious conversion.)

  • We do not purposely evangelize or convert our clients to the Catholic faith or any other Christian faith. Rather, we focus on saving babies and on the well-being of their families. Nor do we count as “saved” the babies of women who are not seeking abortions but have only come to Allied for counseling and/or support services.

  • We carefully document every baby whose life has been saved through our services before adding him or her to our tally of saved babies.

  • From the very beginning, we have been fully Catholic in the ways we work with, assist, and advise our clients. Nonetheless, we assist women and families of all races, creeds, colors, origins, and income levels.

  • We directly and materially assist those women who have chosen life for their babies. This support is up to one year. We do not merely direct them to other social service agencies, unless necessary.

  • Although we are in great need of financial support, we have decided not to accept funding from the State of Texas, or the federal government,  because their rules and restrictions would significantly hamper our ability to save babies. We will not choose to make it easier to fund our operations while making it more difficult to save babies from abortion. We will not choose dollars over lives.
